What it is
The monthly US jobs report: how many jobs were added (nonfarm payrolls), the unemployment rate and wage growth.
Why it matters
It is the main read on the labour market, one half of the Fed's mandate. A big surprise either way can move stocks, bonds and the dollar within minutes.
